Inspired by Cade's adventurous spirit and his gift for making others feel seen and valued, our signature program provides underserved middle and high school youth with access to enriching experiences that build confidence, strengthen wellbeing, and foster meaningful connections.
Through telling Cade's story, interactive activities, take home resources and memorable adventures, at a Shine Your Light Youth Experience, participants learn how to protect their light through healthy choices and shine their light by supporting and uplifting others.
WHY IT MATTERS
Cade had a gift for making people feel loved, included, and valued. He lived life with adventure, energy, love, and joy.
But at 18 years old, as a freshman in college, Cade took a pill he believed was a prescription painkiller. It contained fentanyl, and in an instant, his young life filled with promise, purpose, and so much light to give was gone.
The Shine Your Light Youth Experience was created to honor the way Cade lived while sharing an important lesson from his loss: your light matters, and it is worth protecting.
We believe every young person deserves opportunities to create positive memories, discover new possibilities, and experience adventures that expand their view of what is possible for their future.
Through this experience, we encourage young people to:
Protect their light through healthy and safe choices.
Shine their light by lifting others up.
Because the world needs the unique light only they can bring.

Cade's Light partners with organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County to provide underserved middle and high school youth with meaningful experiences that build confidence, strengthen wellbeing, and foster connection.
